Green eyes have long fascinated people worldwide, symbolizing mystery, allure, and uniqueness. With only about 2% of the global population having green eyes, this rare color naturally draws attention and intrigue.

Rarity and Science: Predominantly found in Northern and Central Europe, green eyes result from low melanin levels in the iris combined with lipochrome, a yellowish pigment. The scattering of light, known as the Tyndall effect, creates the distinct green appearance. Interestingly, green eyes contain no actual green pigment, making their hue a remarkable natural phenomenon.

Sensitivity and Health: People with green eyes often experience increased light sensitivity due to lower melanin, making bright environments uncomfortable. Some studies also suggest a slightly higher risk of certain eye conditions or skin-related issues, though overall health depends on multiple factors.
