My name is Marcela, and this story is my own account of the first three months of a marriage that seemed perfect. Three months, too short a time for people to truly understand each other, but long enough for a small rift to form and silently grow, threatening to destroy everything. Ricardo and I got married, a simple but warm wedding, with the blessing of our family and friends. Everyone said I was lucky because I had found the perfect husband.

But I only received kind words, caresses in my hair, and then he would leave, making excuses about work and tiredness. He was still considerate, attentive, still buying me flowers and cooking for me, but there was no intimacy. Confusion and doubt began to take hold of my soul.
