4. Property tax: owners also have rights

From age 75, if your annual income is modest (around €12,000 for a single person), you may be fully exempt from property tax on your main residence. Between the ages of 65 and 75, a partial reduction is also possible, subject to income requirements.

This can represent savings of several hundred euros per year. And the good news is: in some cases, the exemption is applied automatically by the tax authorities if your income is already known.
